This is scanned from my sketchbook, i used mixed materials to create a multi-layered image; editorial pictures and textures. By using a scalpel knife and removing segments of the main image it opens up windows to the materials behind, creating depth. To add an illustration element to this creation i used a blue fine liner to make sharp shapes and emphasize certain details.This technique could be applied to create and album cover, depending on the album name/music genre/band name, the diversity of this is amazing - making it possible to change the purpose and meaning of the illustration.
